Juvederm
Over recent years, hyaluronic acid has emerged as the miracle compound for filling in wrinkles.
Hyaluronic acid is a physiological constituent of dermal tissue which maintains local moisture content and is gradually reabsorbed with time. Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid in the form of viscoelastic gel, which is transparent and homo-geneous and which has four major benefits :
* It is of non-animal origin
* It does not require any prior test
* The molecule is highly bio-compatible..
Juvederm is presented in the form of a pre-filled syringe, containing a viscoelastic, transparent hyaluronic acid gel. Juvederm is available in three different concentrations, their use depending on the nature of the depression, needed to be corrected.
Concentrations:
Juvederm 18
When injected into the superficial dermis, the fluid version, Juvederm 18, fills fine wrinkles such as crow’s feet or peri-oral wrinkles.
Juvederm 24
When injected into the middle dermis, the dense version, Juvederm 24, effectively fills forehead wrinkles, glabellar lines, obvious mild to moderate nasal furrows and cheek wrinkles.
Juvederm 30
When injected into the deep dermis, the densest version, Juvéderm 30, fills deep nasolabial folds, marionette lines, returns volume to your lips, sculptures your cheeks and gives your face, its natural oval shape again. Treated areas should be gently massaged immediately after injection in order to check that the product is evenly distributed. A follow-up procedure a few weeks after the initial treatment is recommended to optimize the outcome.
Redness, edema, and pain at the injection site may develop after treatment and generally disappear spontaneously within 72 hours.
Juvederm should not be used under these circumstances:
* Known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid.
* Diseases affecting the immune system.
* Pregnant or breast-feeding women.
* You should avoid exposing yourself to high temperatures (severe cold or saunas, UV or sunlight) during the days following the injection.
